About Xpression...

At Xpression Dance Company, we believe that dance is more than just steps, it’s a powerful form of self-expression, creativity, and confidence-building. Based in Portsmouth, we offer fun, high-quality contemporary and competition dance classes for children aged 4–16.

Whether your child is taking their first class or dreaming of the stage, Xpression is a space where everyone can feel encouraged, challenged, and celebrated. We combine strong technique with freedom of movement, helping each dancer find their own voice through dance.

About the founder...

Hi, I’m Lauren, the founder and lead teacher here at Xpression Dance Company.

I began dancing at the age of 5 and quickly fell in love with the creativity and confidence it gave me. Since then, dance has been a constant in my life, from training and performing, to teaching and choreographing.

I started teaching at 18 and have now worked with dancers of all ages across schools, studios and performance settings. I’ve trained in street, contemporary, and acro, and completed multiple IDTA exams along the way.

Performance highlights include dancing at Her Majesty’s Theatre and the O2 Arena, and I’ve proudly choreographed for school productions, local showcases, and large events like Dance Live.

My teaching style blends strong technique with creativity, energy and a focus on helping each dancer grow in confidence. I created Xpression to be a welcoming space where every dancer feels supported and seen, whether they’re brand new to dance or ready to take the stage.
